Our venue knowledge

Dance Floor Hire at Billesley Manor Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon

Billesley Manor has a long rectangular function room that works particularly well with a centrally positioned dance floor at the far end of the room. Although the venue has its own permanent wooden dance floor, many couples choose one of our luxury dance floors to better complement their wedding theme and create a more striking focal point for the evening reception.

A 14′ × 14′ dance floor is the ideal size for this room. It provides plenty of space for dancing while still leaving comfortable room for evening seating. Although a 16′ × 16′ floor will fit, it starts to reduce the available space for guest tables, so we generally recommend this size only for larger evening receptions.

Recommended dimensions

Which dance floor size works best?

SMALLEST ADVISED

12′ × 12′

Suitable for smaller weddings, although it can look slightly undersized within the proportions of the room.

NORMAL

14′ × 14′

Our most frequently installed size at Billesley Manor and the option that suits the majority of weddings held here.

MAXIMUM

16′ x 16′

A 16′ × 16′ dance floor will fit comfortably, but anything larger begins to remove too many guest tables and reduce the flexibility of the room.

Floor styles

Floor styles that suit the room

White starlit

Our most popular choice at Billesley Manor and the style we’ve supplied for every wedding at the venue so far. The elegant white finish complements the room beautifully and creates a stunning centrepiece for the evening reception.

Black Starlit

Although we haven’t yet installed one at Billesley Manor, we think a Black Starlit Dance Floor would work exceptionally well for evening parties and black-tie celebrations. The darker finish would create a completely different atmosphere while still providing the same elegant LED sparkle.

Room positioning

Designed around the room

For the best overall layout, we normally position the dance floor:

  • At the far end of the function room before the entrance to the bar area.
  • Directly in front of the DJ or band.
  • With the DJ positioned either against the rear wall or the wall to the right-hand side.
  • To maximise the available space for guest seating throughout the room.
  • Creating a natural focal point for the first dance and evening entertainment.

Access and installation

How the setup normally works

Most weddings at Billesley Manor require a room turnaround between the wedding breakfast and evening reception.

  • Access the venue via the rear of the hotel.
  • Bring the dance floor panels into the corridor running alongside the function room.
  • Prepare everything before guests leave the room.
  • Wait while the venue staff remove tables and complete the room turnaround.
  • Begin installation as soon as the space is available.
  • Complete the setup efficiently so everything is ready before the evening reception begins.

Having the corridor alongside the function room allows us to stage all the equipment in advance, helping installations run quickly and with minimal disruption.

First-hand experience

Knowledge that helps everything run smoothly

One of the biggest advantages of working at Billesley Manor is the excellent access behind the venue. Being able to prepare the dance floor panels in the corridor alongside the function room means we’re ready to begin installation the moment the venue staff have finished clearing the room.

Although Billesley Manor has its own wooden dance floor, many couples choose to cover it with one of our White Starlit Dance Floors to better match their wedding styling and create a more memorable setting for their first dance.

Questions clients ask

Venue dance floor FAQs

What size dance floor works best?

For most weddings at Billesley Manor, we recommend a 14′ × 14′ dance floor. It suits the proportions of the room perfectly while leaving plenty of space for guest seating.

Which floor style suits the room?

Our White Starlit Dance Floor is by far the most popular choice and is the style we’ve installed at every wedding here. We also think a Black Starlit Dance Floor would be an excellent choice for couples looking to create a more dramatic evening atmosphere.

When is the floor installed?

Almost all installations take place during the room turnaround between the wedding breakfast and evening reception, allowing the room to be transformed with minimal disruption.

Do I need to use the venue’s wooden dance floor?

No. While the venue has its own permanent wooden dance floor, we can install one of our luxury dance floors directly over the top, giving you a completely different look that complements your wedding style.
